FAQ
Is the wooden tray removable?
Yes. The wooden tray lifts away completely and doubles as the tabletop. Once removed, the lacquered-steel surface beneath remains available as a second surface.
Felt on the underside helps protect the lacquered-steel top when the tray is in place.
Can I buy a replacement or additional Batea S tray?
Yes. You can buy a replacement or additional tray in our Batea Tray & Tops section. Choose your preferred finish and select Batea S (Ø42 cm) on the product page.
How should I care for the wooden tray?
The varnished wooden surface is designed for everyday use and can be wiped clean easily after spills such as water or soft drinks. We recommend using coasters and wiping up darker liquids, such as wine or coffee, promptly to preserve the finish.
Can Batea S be made taller?
Yes. Batea S can be made up to 5 cm (2 in) taller as a special order. A €40 customisation fee applies. Contact us through our live chat or at info@woodendot.com with the height you need.
Can I order Batea S in a custom colour?
Yes. Choose any shade from the RAL colour chart. A €40 customisation fee applies per colour, regardless of how many Batea S tables you order in that colour.
Products in custom colours cannot be returned.
Price Transparency
Our Transparent Process
We are proud to be part of a new generation of brands that see transparency as the basis of trust between a company and its customers.
Below, you can see how our prices are broken down and understand what lies behind each Woodendot product you take home.
These cost breakdowns are calculated as an average across all Woodendot collections.
We follow a fair and transparent margin policy that allows us to offer reasonable prices. When a product is on sale, the discount comes from our margin.
42% Brand Operation
This is our gross margin: the share of each sale that supports the day-to-day operation and long-term development of Woodendot.
This revenue helps us cover:
- Salaries: supporting the growing team that makes Woodendot possible.
- Product development: researching, designing and developing new products for our collections.
- Marketing and communication: advertising, social media, email and the content that helps customers discover and understand our products.
- Rent and services: maintaining our office, warehouse and day-to-day facilities.
- Technology: computers, software and the digital tools required to operate the business.
- Professional and company fees: legal, accounting and administrative costs required to run the company.
21% Sustainable Materials & Local Production
We carefully select our materials from responsible sources, including FSC-certified wood from responsibly managed forests.
Our products are made locally in and around Íscar, Spain, by experienced craftspeople with a deep knowledge of woodworking.
This approach increases our production costs, but it allows us to maintain the quality we expect from every piece while supporting local production and more responsible material choices.
20% Taxes & Fees
Woodendot is a Spanish company and pays its taxes in Spain. This percentage represents the average share of each sale that we collect and pay in taxes and statutory fees.
9% Transport & Delivery
This is the average cost of shipping our products, including insured delivery to protect your order in the event of damage during transit.
5% Product Preparation, Packaging & Recyclable Materials
Every product is checked and carefully prepared before being packed. Where applicable, pieces are also pre-assembled to make the final setup easier at home.
This percentage covers the preparation process and the protective packaging required to keep each product secure during transport.
Most of our packaging is made from recycled materials and can be recycled after use, with very little plastic.
2% Payment Processing Fee
This is the average fee charged by the payment providers integrated into our online store for processing each transaction.
1% Tree Planting
As part of our Design with Intention philosophy, we plant one tree for every product sold.
Over the years, this commitment has helped us plant thousands of trees.

Batea S at Home
A tray table for everyday living
A Small Table That Moves with You
Picture Batea S beside your favourite armchair, holding a book and a warm drink, or next to the bed as a calm place for the objects you keep close. Its rounded silhouette adds character without overwhelming the room.
When breakfast, coffee or snacks are ready, lift the wooden tray and carry them comfortably from the kitchen to the sofa, armchair or bed. Return it to the base and Batea S becomes a compact side table again.
Soft curves, solid-wood legs and a lacquered-steel structure give it a balanced, quietly distinctive presence. Choose the warmth of natural oak or walnut, or a lacquered-oak colour finish to add a considered accent to the room.
