Vida Initiative

Our care for a piece continues beyond your home.

The materials and work that go into a piece are worth caring for throughout its life. We feel responsible for helping it remain useful when it no longer fits your home.

Through Vida Initiative, we bring approved pieces back to Tierra de Pinares, where our furniture is made. We look for what can be restored, what can become part of another piece and what needs to be recycled. You take the first step by getting in touch; we assess each request and guide you through what happens next.

How to give your piece another life.

1. Tell us about your Woodendot piece.

Start your Vida Initiative request by emailing info@woodendot.com. Tell us about its condition and where it would be collected.

2. We review your request.

We consider your piece’s condition, location and the impact of transporting it to our workshop in Tierra de Pinares, Spain.

Please allow 24–72 hours for our email reply. Collection is available only for approved requests in European countries.

3. Prepare your piece for collection.

If your request is approved, we’ll send packing instructions suited to your piece.

You’ll source the packing materials locally. Careful protection during handling and transport helps keep more of the piece suitable for reuse.

4. We arrange collection.

We’ll coordinate collection with you and confirm the available date and timing with the carrier.

Woodendot covers collection and the recovery work for approved requests. We restore reusable components and use suitable recycling routes for those that cannot be recovered.

5. Your piece comes back to Tierra de Pinares.

Your piece arrives at our warehouse in Tierra de Pinares, Spain, the region where our furniture is made.

6. We assess the piece and its components.

We inspect its condition and separate components where needed. Understanding how our furniture is made helps us identify what can be restored, reused or sent for recycling.

7. We restore what can be recovered.

We work with each material according to its condition and construction. Suitable wood surfaces may be sanded and refinished; components that cannot be restored are assessed for reuse or recycling.

8. Restored components find a new use.

The components we recover can be used in similar pieces or other designs. Parts unsuitable for reuse are separated for suitable recycling according to their material.

9. Thank you for giving your piece this chance.

By taking part, you help us recover the work and materials already invested in a piece and keep what is still useful in circulation.

10. Receive your Vida Initiative certificate.

We’ll email your certificate 24–72 hours after collection, recognising your participation. The assessment and recovery work can continue after it is issued. Thank you for helping us give useful materials another life.

Vida Initiative · Questions and answers.

Who can apply to Vida Initiative?

Vida Initiative accepts requests for Woodendot products located in European countries. We review each piece before approving collection.

Knowing the materials and construction of our own furniture helps us assess how it can be taken apart and which components can be recovered. The programme does not cover collection of furniture from other brands.

Can you help with furniture from another brand?

Contact the manufacturer first to ask about reuse, donation or recycling options for your furniture.

If they cannot suggest an option, we can help you look for local donation or recycling points.

Email info@woodendot.com and tell us about your case.

Can older Woodendot pieces be considered?

You can apply for pieces from both our current and previous collections, regardless of purchase date. Acceptance depends on the piece’s condition, location and recovery assessment.

When will I hear back about my request?

Please allow 24–72 hours for an email response once we have the information needed to assess your piece.

Do you supply packaging?

We don’t send packaging materials. Please source them locally; we’ll recommend suitable protection and provide instructions once your request is approved.

Using locally available materials avoids an extra shipment solely for packaging. The materials still need to protect your piece properly during handling and transport.

Why is careful packing important?

Good packing protects the parts we hope to recover during handling and transport to Tierra de Pinares, Spain. Following the instructions helps your piece arrive in a condition that gives us more options for restoration or reuse.

What if I need to reschedule collection?

Please follow the carrier’s collection instructions to request a different date. If you need help, contact Woodendot as soon as possible. The new date will depend on the carrier’s availability.

When will I receive my Vida Initiative certificate?

Your certificate is sent to the email address used for your request, 24–72 hours after collection. It acknowledges your participation; recovery work may continue after the certificate is issued.

Why might a request not be approved?

We consider the recovery potential and the transport involved before arranging collection. If bringing a piece back is not a suitable option, we’ll explain why and help you look for local donation, reuse or recycling options.
