Alba Grey Herringbone is a decorative floating wall shelf that combines everyday display with a quiet, contemporary presence. Its herringbone grain pattern brings soft contrast and a calm architectural presence to the wall, balanced by a slim shelf surface and layered front panel.
Use it for books, a small lamp or personal objects in an entrance, living room or bedroom. The herringbone grain pattern introduces texture and rhythm while keeping the composition visually light, so the piece remains expressive yet visually light.
The rear panel is made from birch plywood faced with natural ash veneer and finished in grey; the veneer layout creates its distinctive herringbone pattern. Configure the shelf and front-panel finishes, then choose the orientation of the layered panels during installation. A lacquered-steel bracket supports the clean, floating profile.
Its layered form recalls light on the sea at dawn, while the herringbone pattern gives the idea a more graphic rhythm. In Grey, the composition gains calm and visual balance.
- Birch plywood faced with natural oak, walnut or ash veneer.
- Colour finishes are applied over ash veneer.
- Concealed wall bracket in lacquered steel.

Assembly and Packaging
Packaging
Our pieces are flat-packed to protect them during transport and make lifting and carrying easier. The packaging uses very little plastic and is largely recyclable.
Wall mounting
The concealed wall bracket is made from lacquered steel. Alba is designed for straightforward wall mounting, and hardware for solid walls is included. Plasterboard installation may require suitable fixings or reinforcement, which are not included. The customer is responsible for choosing a secure solution for their wall.
FAQ
How much space is there between the panels?
The space between the front and rear panels is 9 cm. Alba Wall Shelf sits flush against the wall, so there is no storage behind the rear panel. For more dedicated bedside storage, choose Alba Nightstand or Alba Slim Nightstand.
Can I install Alba on plasterboard?
We recommend installation on a solid wall. Plasterboard installation requires suitable fixings or reinforcement, which are not included. The customer is responsible for choosing a secure solution for their wall.
Can I choose or change the panel orientation?
Yes. Choose the orientation of each panel during installation. If an already installed panel is later reversed, a fixing hole may become visible. Contact us if you need an extra panel.
Does Alba include an opening for charging cables?
Yes. A discreet opening in the shelf base lets a charging cable pass behind the front panel.
Can I order custom RAL colours?
Yes. Custom RAL colours are available on request by email or WhatsApp for €30 per colour, regardless of the number of pieces painted in that colour. Custom-colour pieces cannot be returned.
Price Transparency
Our Transparent Process
We are proud to be part of a new generation of brands that see transparency as the basis of trust between a company and its customers.
Below, you can see how our prices are broken down and understand what lies behind each Woodendot product you take home.
These cost breakdowns are calculated as an average across all Woodendot collections.
We follow a fair and transparent margin policy that allows us to offer reasonable prices. When a product is on sale, the discount comes from our margin.
42% Brand Operation
This is our gross margin: the share of each sale that supports the day-to-day operation and long-term development of Woodendot.
This revenue helps us cover:

This approach increases our production costs, but it allows us to maintain the quality we expect from every piece while supporting local production and more responsible material choices.

Alba Wall Shelf in real homes
Alba Wall Shelves
A sculptural floating wall shelf, configured by you
Alba combines a rear panel, a compact shelf and a Sun or Moon front panel in a layered composition that appears to float against the wall. Choose the shape and finishes in the configurator, then decide at home how to orient each panel.
Named after the Spanish expression al alba, Alba evokes the sun reflecting on the sea at first light—a silhouette echoed in its layered form.
